I agree with you. Obama and his health care plan both suck. But....many experts are predicting that his plan will do more harm than good and be too expensive and end up not working and the plan would be abolished within a few years. So hang in there. There are no requirements starting from High School, however it would be a good idea to take as many relevant courses as possible, like you are. Also, if they are offered, you should take AP courses so the credits can carry over to whatever college you attend. Of course, it depends on what type of doctor you want to be and your specialty, but Biology would probably be the most helpful for any.

You should be able to get into university to study medicine with your qualifications. Also since you're already training to be a nurse this could work in your advantage if you've proved to the university that you can study at university level to a high standard. Check out the entry grades for the universities you're interested in and make contact with them to talk to them about it as they will be likely to be able to advise you. If you're nearly finished your nursing training though then you'd be better finishing your training and then making a choice later on about whether to study medicine.
