Jessica Said:

term life insurance question?

We Answered:

They have a nurse check you out to make sure you didn't lie about things such as diabetes or other bad medical problems. I don't know how much over you lied about your weight but usually that isn't a problem unless you're morbidly obese. I even passed one after I was diagnosed with cancer. I decided not to purchase it though for other reasons.
I used to have an insurance policy that "built up cash" in case I wanted to turn it in at some point in the future. I paid 50$ a month and over a few years when I turned it in I got a few hundred back (I only had it about 4 or 5 years at the most and was pressured by my family to cancel it because they don't believe in life insurance and thought I was wasting my money). In time you could borrow against it to but I never did. I think that might be the better way to go if you could get one like that. In case of an emergency you could cancel it and get some money back. But the price you were quoted isn't too bad a price either. I just never liked term insurance because at the end you've paid all that money and get nothing (unless of course you die during it haha). Then you have to get another one and the rates will be a lot higher because you're 30 years older than you were at the beginning of the old policy and they might refuse you coverage due to something that recently comes up. If I were to get life insurance again it would be forever or nothing. I don't want to renew it only to hear "sorry you've been turned down after 20 years with us because of your high blood pressure (for example)" then I'd have to scramble for coverage and pay twice as much.

Not satisfied with doctor please help . I will give a simplified version...?

We Answered:

Just go to the one doctor that agrees with you. You don't have to force them all to agree. Just find one that agrees with you and work with them.

I'm not a doctor, but I think it's pretty clear that you need some blood pressure meds. If you get beta blockers, they also help a little with anxiety (assuming you have any at all to begin with).

Anyway, if they claim you have anxiety, then why don't they give you something for that? Sounds like you just have to find someone who does listen to you.

Look here for the best hospitals in the USA:
http://health.usnews.com/articles/health…

If you want yet another opinion, then go to one of these hospitals - whichever is nearest to you, and see a cardiologist there. Get copies of your tests and results, and bring them with you if you go.

I've also noticed that it helps if you're well-dressed, and calm whenever you talk to a doctor. Don't argue with the dismissive and stubborn types, just don't go back to them. I think sometimes doctors are mean to people they don't like because they're not allowed to say, "I don't like you and I don't want to work with you." So it's a good idea to present yourself well and in a friendly manner to all doctors - and be sensitive to it if they seem to dislike you.

MEPS: drug history question?

We Answered:

Just be honest. Biggest rule. BE HONEST. The government realizes kids smoke pot in high school, their not going to end you for it. Lying at MEPS would be more illegal than smoking pot. The government employees are people to. Your cool and honest with them, they will be cool and honest with you.

-Good luck!

Girls, have you been told by your doctor to take Birth Control Pills so you will not get Ovaian Cancer?

We Answered:

my doctor told me the same thing. i was on birth control pills for 6 years even though i was not sexually active. they really threw off my hormones. when i was on the pills i did not notice as much, but when i made the decision to get off them it was a nightmare. 4 full months of a rollercoaster ride of hormones. according to the doctors, that was not supposed to happen because i was on the lowest dose of hormones in yasmin and yaz birth control.

many people agree that birth control causes more problems than it promises to prevent. it might not be that bad when you are on it (though actually a lot of women have trouble) but if you ever try to get off it's a nightmare. doctors of course won't tell you this because it is in their interest to write scrips for the pills because they get money from the companies that produce those pills.
