One of the best ways is to join a support group and ask who uses what doctor . . . remember one thing though . . you may not 'like' a doctor and that may or may not affect your treatment. Ask yourself if the doctor you saw is 'good' . . is he a good oncologist because you are not really looking for a 'friend' . .you are looking for an expert who can help you try and beat this cancer. We were fortunate enough to get along and like all the doctors my son saw . . but some of them had very poor bedside manners . . to those few I always looked past that flaw as long as they were doing their job with excellence . . and they were. Some doctors are just really good technically but are lousy dealing with patients and 'feelings' .. so examine how you feel about that while you look around for a second opinion or a new doctor.Join a few forums or email lists and ask about doctors in your location . . there is always someone who can 'help'.
