Walk In Doctors London

Violet Said:

What is the matter with the attitude of British Doctors?

We Answered:

I know exactly how you feel. I first had problems with a slipped disc when I was training to be a nurse. I was hospitalised by the pain and was seen by a consultant that decided that my classic symptoms of a slipped disc was all in my mind. He told other doctors this and I had trouble getting anyone to believe me. It ended up when I was working nights with me being sent of duty and the matron asking me if I would let one of their doctors examine me, it was also suggested that I might need to see a psychiatrist if it was all in my mind I was so desperate that I would have agreed.
Within an hour of being examined I was admitted to the wards with a slipped disc that was removed as it was so unstable. Unfortunately be this time I had suffered nerve damage in my legs but I was able to cope. In fact the day after major back surgery I was in less pain than I had been for years. But due to the delay in treatment and other problems I now have osteoarthritis in my spine, shoulders and hands/wrists.I can never seem to find a combination of drugs that keep the pain at a bearable level and it seems that you have to fight just to get barely adequate help.
My last GP surgery were hopeless at filling my repeat prescriptions and I was lucky that my husband was not bullied by them as he always managed to get me a prescription after some fights his favourite was I will stop the doctor seeing a patient by sitting outside his room until I get my wifes prescription. this resulted in a comment on m,y records about my husbands behaviour. We did have the last laugh when one of the doctors phoned the rhematologist I had seen who had prescribed drugs that worked better than most and apparently so a source inside the surgery said'got an earful about giving me the drugs I asked for, I got a message that in future this doctor would write my prescriptions if needed.
The problem with intractable chronic pain it affects every part of your life, and others who do not suffer from it do not understand how hard it is to deal with it.
Pain clinics are a good idea BUT as a lot of their patients never recover and are passed on to other doctors they tend to be full and havew long waiting lisits. People always say to me if you are in so much pain ring them and ask to be seen sooner but all that does is put others who are properably in severe pain as well further back on the list.
I am waiting for a denervation treatment on my back and left shoulder and cannnot wait, my right shoulder was done just before christmas and I can at least move that arm freely now. I had this treatment on my back a number of years ago and it was quite helpful and the effects lasted for about 2 years so fingars crossed.
The worst time I had was when I firsted complained about my shoulders I was told by an orthopedic physio(one trained to do more than just physio) that I felt pain differently and to stop my shoulders from hurting to stop using the crutches. So basically she was saying just use the wheelchair stop trying to be mobile and give up it is enough too drive you crazy.
Please if you need to shout at someone feel free to contact me via my profile page.
Good luck I hope you get this sorted out soon. (I do not know if you have tried accupuncture I find it does not lessen the pain much but it does allow me to get some sleep which means I am ablke to cope with the pain better
Sorry my answer is so long

How long will it take for a 19 yr old to lose two stone?

We Answered:

Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the calorie calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/ca… This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.

Doctors: Please answer this about pain referral...?

We Answered:

You most likely have mechanical back syndrome, but the treatment is the same for Sciatica. In it's worst state, you will feel painful electrical charges in your foot as the nerve wraps around your pelvis and hip and back down the back of the leg through the buttocks.

Anytime you feel numbness or tingling in an extremity it is VITAL that you get to a doctor as soon as you can to have it checked out. If there is an impingement that cuts off the circulation, you can lose the limb, so please get to a doctor.

Please see your doctor for a muscle relaxant like flexerall only by prescription to stop your muscles from squeezing the nerve on your left side.

You can use a combination of non prescribed medication to try and hit the areas that are most annoying; however, 50mg-150mg indomethicin oral or anal works the absolute best for your back.

1. I used to use a combination of medications which included 400mg Ibuprofen 4x a day with food. This takes the swelling and inflammation down. DO NOT exceed1600mg in one day and you may need prilosec for stomach protection as ALL ANTI INFLAMMATORIES are difficult on the stomach. ***You can use Tylenol with Ibuprofen and Aspirin watch for daily maximums & don't exceed.

2. Robaxacet is Tylenol (acetominophen) combined with methocarbonal (muscle relaxant)...this also comes with codeine on request from the pharmacist. This only relaxes any tight muscles around the pain and helps reduce some pain. You can use Robaxacet with Ibuprofen and Aspirin, BUT NOT Tylenol as it's already an ingredient in this pill.

3. Robaxacyl is Aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) combines with methocarbonal (muscle relaxant)...this has a blood thinning active ingredient and isn't ideal for anyone under age 16 years or complications with blood pressure, ailments, etc. This both takes down the inflammation as well as treats the pain. You can use Robaxacyl with Ibuprofen and Tylenol, BUT NOT Aspirin as it's already an ingredient in this pill.
--------------------------------------…
4. Aleve is a Nonsteroidal Anti Inflammatory (Naproxen) which will helps reduce the inflammation, and as the inflammation decreases so does the pain; BUT you CANNOT mix this drug with any of the above mentioned safely.

5. Dynamint has been used on horses legs for years, but it does an amazing job on sore muscles. It's ingredients are Peppermint Oil, Eucalyptus Oil , Tea Tree Oil and Calendula Oil.

6. Deep Cold Gold is an alternative rub that works very well on tight aching back & low back tendons.

It's serious as you well know from the pain. You will need to treat it with ICE for 20 minutes on and off every 2.5 hours in your butt cheek and the heart of the pain. You can put a heating pad on your low back afterwards.

You will need to see your doctor if this progressively gets worse. You can request Flexerill (muscle relaxant) to relaxe the muscles from contracting around the pinched nerve. You may also require pain medicaiton depending on the severity.

I do not find much comfort with the chiropractor but it doesn't hurt to check in with yours for normal maintenance and his opinion on sciatica so you can decide what road you want to take.

Physio, Kinesiology, and Yoga are the best for treatment. I usually hit the hot tub and steam room at the pool and stretch in the warm environment.

Lie on your back and pull your knee to your chest and hold for 20 secs. Do it to the other side too and repeat.

Grab both knees to your chest and hold for 20 secs. Bring to the center, and gently rock to the left side and the right side still holding on to your knees for approximately 10 times and repeat. This relieves a lot of the discomfort.

You can also learn to stretch and touch your toes lying on the floor with you bum. Stetch to your shin and hold 20 secs, stretch to your ankle and hold 20 secs, stretch to your arch and hold for 20 secs, and eventually you'll be able to hold the bottom of your feet.

I find these exercises not only alleviate my suffering, but it prevents the re-occurrence. I know because as long as I do them I never even have an episode, but it takes a long time to heal the memory of back pain.

Just for a Saturday laugh???

We Answered:

LoL! Brilliant one..

For those who don't get it,
"test tickets" and "testicles" may sound almost the same.
Van der Merve misunderstood and thought the doctor was going to take his (rugby) test tickets, while in fact he had said he was going to remove his testicles. Van der Merwe would rather have his testicles removed than having his test tickets taken away.

How come there are so many gays in London?

We Answered:

It's a huge city that attracts people for the diversity, whether as tourists or for people that will gravitate from the provinces for the large gay scene there. There are more people of every type there, whether gay or straight. Females don't tend to do alot of chatting up of guys in public places like parks, as this could invite unwanted trouble - ask your girlfriends and females that you know, so that you can learn more about their expectations.

People are more confident when their lifestyle is more accepted too. I've not heard of a prevalence for male rape. There have probably been more gay people murdered in London than any guys getting raped. Rape tends to be done against people who have some familiarity with others, whether having met in a gay bar, or via some other form of connection between them.

A polite 'no', as you have used, is generally enough to deter any advances, whether for women or guys.

If you come across females that you like, use common sense and approach senstively, so as not to frighten etc. Confidence is a wonderful trait to have, and people often this attractive, in its own right.

Good luck! Rob
