Ben Said:

Should I take legal action against the company that promised me a job?

We Answered:

Without anything in writing, you will have a hard time in court.
An offer is just that. An offer. It is not a guarantee, and without the offer in writing, it is "just talk."

26 living with your parents is hard, but in today's economy, you could be 42 and living with your parents. Be grateful you have parents to live with!

You need to contact the job placement agency, and ask to speak to the manager, and tell him/her the situation, and ask for a clear explanation. Not your account person, the COMPANY manager. The Boss of the person giving you the run around.
(PS. Give up on that job, someone else has been hired, and they don't want to tell you.)

You MIGHT be able to get them to cover half your expenses, or you may be able to take them to small claims court and try to get them to cover all your expenses. You will have to talk to the company manager and play it by ear.
They MIGHT try to find you a position if you complain to the manager loud enough about being ignored and deceived...

Best of success to you!

do i quialify for Lap band or gastric?

Unfortunately, no one but your insurance company can really tell you if you will get approval or not, and you wont know until you ask them. Insurance companies can be really A** holes, pardon my language. You can have the same insurance company between two people, but one will get coverage and the other wont. Also, it can make absolute logical and financial sense for them to approve you, but they won’t out of bureaucracy. For example, I was taking a $200.00 a month pill, which they covered, when I asked my doctor for help losing weight. He gave me a $25.00 a month diet pill, but I had to stop taking the $200.00 pill. Would my insurance cover the $25.00 pill? NO, its weight loss medication and they won’t cover any weight loss medications. I was saving them $170 a month and they wouldn’t cover $15.00.

However, some people do have success getting coverage, so do try. If can, get a lawyer. They can sometimes get them to cover it better then you can.

You can go to http://www.obesityhelp.com/. If you click on the "Your insurance" link under "connect and care" This section has information by state regarding peoples experiences trying to get insurance and medial coverage for all types surgery. It can at least give you examples of what others had to do to get coverage in your area and with your insurance.
