Your mother in law (as everyone else has said) cannot have been pregnant for 18months. That is enough time for two full term pregnancies! Im not sure why she is lying, perhaps she really wants a baby and is delusional? Or she is embarrassed about her weight and is saying shes pregnant as a cover for her weight problems? In any case, she may need help for a variety of reasons. Try talking to another family member about it and approach it sensitively as it may be a hard subject to breach with her and she may be embarrassed.

It depends on the doctor. I've had great ones, and I've had ones that shouldn't be practising. If that is the sort of care (sic) you are receiving, change doctors.

The fact is healthy people often do not need any intervention for most ailments.

Doctors do not have the market cornered on what is best for our health. I see different people for different health related things, and many of them are not conventional medical doctors. The mindset that doctors are a one-stop shop for all health questions is part of the problem.
