Private health insurance may assist with inpatient costs like theatre fees etc.

Why dont you contact Concept at King Edward Hospital in Subiaco as they may be able to send you out an information pack.

Medicare does assist with some of the costs associated with assisted reproduction.

I would also recomend posting your question on "bub hub" its an australian site and they have a section in there for IVF or assistance with concieving.

Depending on where you are going you can be covered under your travel insurance for the first 3 months and then be covered under the local state health insurance.

You can also swap your Australian Licence for a Canadian one with out doing all the tests.

My daughter also has MS. She has joined a health fund since diagnosis.
She will not be covered for anything related to MS for 12 months after
joining. Any of the health funds will cover her, She does not have to disclose the medical condition when joining. MBF,NIB,Medibank Private etc all are very similar in what they offer. The pre exisiting rule comes in when she makes a claim. The fund will decide whether they believe the condition was pre existing. Even if you were not aware of a condition when joining they can still deny you cover should they deem that the onset was over a progression of time.
