Buying Health Insurance

Jordan Said:

Dems, are you ready to be fined or jailed for not buying health insurance after Obamacare is passed?

We Answered:

Many of them don't care because they will be GIVEN the money to buy it. But the question will be will we prosecute them when they trade the money supposedly for HC and trade it for liquor and cigs. (think food stamps)

Brenda Said:

What do you think about health care reform policy that could imprison people for not buying health insurance?

We Answered:

ANTI AMERICAN and UNCONSTITUTIONAL pretty much sums it up for me.

Dale Said:

Do Liberals know that buying health insurance is optional?

We Answered:

Ha! You gigantic TOOL. You must be 19 years old or you would realize that costs have risen something like 200% in the last 10 years.

Do you realize that you now agree with Obama's health plan. Yes, if you like your current care, keep it. If you can't afford it, the gove will provide you with mediocre care. Everyone bitches that Canadian care might not be as good as US private care, but the people that would use it have an alternative of nothing, so I think they would like it.

BTW, I'm sure that no one realized that they could just go without health care for their kids. Thanks for pointing that out.

Jamie Said:

Can you explain about the idea of buying health insurance across state lines?

We Answered:

Strange how less than a minute of critical thinking destroys the "buying across state lines" republican talking point, huh?

You're absolutely right. It won't help and it could hurt.

Some of these answers are just foolishly misinformed. As some others that have some knowledge on the subject have pointed out, there aren't thousands of big players in health insurance, there are fewer than 10. Most of them are already in every state underwriting policies from one company or another. The danger, as you accurately pointed out, is that all ten of those would quickly move to whichever state has the fewest regulations.

To anyone that doesn't think this will happen, take a look at your next credit card bill. Ever wonder why they're in Delaware?

The people preaching that this change needs to happen need to take a step back and reevaluate where they're getting their information. Selling across state lines ONLY helps insurance companies. Why would anyone but insurance companies support it? Now think about those same people that support it and think about how they feel about nationalized health care.

Ann Said:

How many people are actually buying health insurance?

We Answered:

I can't afford it...and I work for the county.
I don't know what I would ever do if I got hurt, I guess I'd have to pay out of my pocket. I got bills to pay and living paycheck to paycheck is not too fun.
