I feel exactly the way you do. I don't understand why there are so many programs out there for kids, but little to nothing for adults.

I'm still trying to pay off my hospital bills from last year and I was only hospitalized twice.
I'm 25 now and I'd hate to see how much I'm going to have to start paying once I'm older and have more issues.

Well, each kid is going to cost you about $150 to $200 per month. As canadian citizens, I don't believe they're eligible for any assistance programs (read, welfare).

You COULD ask your employer to add that cost in.

Any uninsured child in California should automatically qualify for Medi-Cal. Go to your county offices and apply. They should even be able to give you temporary stickers to use until the paperwork is processed, and the kids' info is in the system.
