A lot of carriers offer individual plans. Contact them to see what they offer and how much it will cost. If you're relatively healthy and want to keep your expenses down look for an indemnity plan. It has a deductible that must be met before the actual coverage kicks in.....say $1000. The benefit to this plan is it is low cost and if anything catastrophic happens you will have coverage and won't end up in bankruptcy or with your credit ruined because you had a medical emergency.

I know the largest local carrier in CA has an individual plan for about $238/mo. I'm not familiar with plans on the East Coast but I'm sure there is something comparable. Another factor is age. The younger you are, the less expensive the plan will be.

If she was irresponsible enough to get pregnant before marriage, I would say she didn't deserve to have a baby, but there is no way any child should ever be murdered before birth just because his or her mother is immature.
