Gene Said:

What would prompt a visit to your home by the Health Dept?

We Answered:

Nothing I can think of unless someone saw something and reported you ..

Peggy Said:

Would a restaurant in which organized food fights be allowed in Utah based on the requirements of Health dept?

We Answered:

There is a chain steakhouse restaurant that used to encourage people to just drop their peanut shells on the floor. The FDA forbade them from allowing this.

Keep in mind they had a fit about peanut SHELLS, which are inedible if the shell is on the floor or in a sterilized bag. Imagine the fines and paperwork involved if they were to find out about a food fight.

Lois Said:

how does environmental health dept impact health and/or quality of life at the system level?

We Answered:

A restaurant owner once said the restroom sets the standard of the rest of the place. How would you like to eat at a restaurant that had rats or roaches crawling all over the place? If you got sick, you could easily bring home or work the germs to make others sick.

Eric Said:

Can someone tell me what they think of about King County Public Health Dept?

We Answered:

Meh. They're ok. It's not really much of an issue, which is a good thing because not being in the news does at least mean that they're not making glaring errors...

Kyle Said:

How can I get the local Health Dept. to make a couple clean up the kitchen trash and sewage from their yard?

We Answered:

if the health department wont do anything, call child services and file a complaint with them. if they follow up with a home visit they might just let you take your child. also what are your cities bylaws about trash in yards? if you get enough people to complain they will have to clean it up or the city will send a crew. if they rent their house call their landlord and complain about the eyesore they have created. good luck.

Jeff Said:

Have to get immunizations /titers for school cheaper to get at health dept or doctor?r?

We Answered:

Try the health department first. Blood tests are usually not free but much cheaper than a private lab.
