Joshua Said:

Electronic health records enables integration of what 3 things?

We Answered:

It makes it possible if a patient is unconscious for the ER to find any health problems the patient has which could help with diagnosis. It also allows for patient medication profile so the doctors can maintain the medications they may need on a regular basis. It also allows a doctor to know if the patient has a drug allergy so the wrong medications are not given.
This allows doctors, pharmacies, and insurance companies to communicate in present time with all the information in patient profile. It also helps so patients can be monitored for using multiple doctors and pharmacies to get extra medication like for instance narcotics being prescribed to one patient by several doctors and prescriptions filled in various different pharmacies that have no idea that patient is already taking an array of narcotics. It would be hard to monitor insurance companies if patient is paying in cash.

Better accuracy- computer can check for typos or miscalculations when it comes to drug dosage. There`s no sloppy hand writing to try and read. Allergies and other health problems are flagged right away. Have you ever seen a paper medical chart and then a computer medical chart? Its night and day. Whats easier to use an actual paper book encyclopedia or an online one?
