There are a few ingedients that are dual-sourced (both animal and non) and if the ingredients label does not specify the source, your only choice is to contact the customer service for that company to see if they can tell you. Unfortunately, some companies do not know as they get the raw materials from multiple suppliers who do not notify them of their source. In that case, you can let them know that you have to respectfully choose other brands until they can assure you of their status.

I have never heard of a vegetable source for tallow though, I could be wrong.

I agree with Lee. Call the owner/operator, the corporation and the health department. Then call the media.

The problem is that many Mcds and other fast food places that have these play area's don't have the patience or time to climb in the tubes of the play area and check it out. There are constantly children in there so even if they clean it once every few hours a child can make a mess immediately after and they won't know until a child comes out with fecal matter on them or the next cleaning time.

Honestly, I think the play area is a constant breeding ground for bacteria and germs. Personally, I say they should get rid of them. There is no way to keep it 100% clean and meet every parents standards. It's a great idea to let the kids run around and have fun and burn off energy, but the dangerous things that could happen are just too much.

I worked at a MCds, and I can honestly tell you, we did clean the playland constantly, we had a lobby person who was always in there to make sure it was in tip top shape. We even had a cleaning service come in once a week and steam all the tubes clean. But, things always happened. A child would vomit etc.

It comes down to lazyness. No one wants to climb the tubes and clean them like they should. Which is horrible. But the truth. I would never bring my child to one.

I think it's the basics that we have here in the US. Our basics are hairnets, washing the hands after using the bathroom and basically everything else such as handling food. When handling various food products, handle one at a time and wash your hands after each. Make sure hands are washed after touching unprepared raw meat. If somebody is sick, don't allow them to work because they could get others sick. If they are sneezed on by others, some sort of aerosol should be kept around such as Lysol Antibacterial. Everything should be clean, wiped down, and decontaminated. Contamination is actually very very easy. So it's best to be cleaning when customers are not needing assistance.
