While we do not want people who are genuinely unable to work through some serious physical or mental health problem, to starve to death - it does seem that in our current One Party State, where the former Conservative, Labour and Liberal Parties now have virtually the same political policies and outlooks as one another, "they" have finally woken up. It as finally clicked that is that those of us who work hard and get very low wages are utterly fed up with having huge amounts of our wage deducted by PAYE every month to pay for the fraudulent incapacity benefit claims of certain members of our population who are in fact perfectly capable of performing certain sorts of necessary work which Brits do not like doing, so is instead currently being done instead by the huge numbers of immigrants flooding into this grossly overcrowded island.

But it is not going to work unless something is also done about curbing immigration and curbing the hoards of fake political asylum claimants etc.. But there could be light at the end of the tunnel if the Pound continues to fall against the Euro and US dollar. In that case it will become less and less profitable for workers from non commonwealth countries including the millions from the former Soviet bloc (etc..now part of the EU) to work in the UK and make more than if they work in their own country. So only if that situation persists YES it will work. But enforcement still remains a thorny problem for the authorities in eliminating the targeted laziness and fraud.

Your employer is bound to claim that proper procedures were followed - it's going to be your word against theirs but it's always worth contacted the social security office and saying that the employer is not being truthful and ask them to obtain proof that you received a warning - remember it's up to them to prove you got the warning - not up to you to prove that you didn't. You could also threaten to sue for wrongful dismissal (it doesn't matter if they had grounds to dismiss you - they didn't follow procedures)
