Shelly Said:

What is the best affordable health insurance for students out there?

We Answered:

Your local Blue Cross Blue Shield will have an excellent individual plan that will fit your needs at an affordable price. A simple search mentioning your state and Blue Cross should bring you to the correct website. Most Blue Cross companies post their pricing on their site as well, and you can apply electronically too.
Coverage through a university plan is usually very basic coverage, and widely considered sub-par at best.

How is Oriental Health Insurance for students going to US?

We Answered:

You have to take compulsorily the Overseas Travel Mediclaim policy, if you are going to US.
You can take it from any general insurance company, all of them offer this type of policy for students for study purpose.
Take earlier to avoid last minute tension.
you may have to submit application form, copy of passsport and deails of the duration of study, etc.

Premium is almost same with little difference.
Approach the Agent or nearest branch which will process and complete at short time.
oriental is also ok

Do most colleges offer good health insurance to students?

We Answered:

That sounds about like what most schools offer, if they offer anything at all (not all do). Generally, they offer coverage with high deductibles and less than 100% coverage because that makes the premiums cheaper. Most students can't afford better coverage, or else they don't think they need it (when you're young you tend to think you're immortal), so they can't or won't pay for better coverage.

If you've found a better plan that you can actually get, and it's comparable in price, then go for it. You lucked out--not everybody can qualify for an individual plan, or afford it.
