You can go to any walk-in clinic, and the fee is usually around $50. I know that you said that's not an option - but I fail to see the reason why. There are no places where you can see a doctor without MSP coverage (and it not being an emergency), unless you live in major metropolitan cities (Vancouver/Toronto) that have clinics set up to help immigrants without health coverage yet.

After that, the pills will cost about $20/month's supply - however, most clinics will give you three months for free.

The Accident Benefits portion contained in any Ontario Automobile Policy is not really health insurance. Health insurance covers illness and injury from any number of causes. This portion of the policy covers expenses and loss of income for eligible insured persons who suffer an injury due to an automobile accident only. If the accident occurs in Ontario then it doesn't matter if the person injured is a resident of Ontario or not. If the accident occurs outside Ontario, then the injured party has to be a resident of Ontario or was a resident of Ontario at some point during the 60 days before the accident in order to receive benefits under the policy.

There is a program I'm going to that is for low income people and without any insurance and they work with you. There has to be a plan in canada, I heard recently that canada has better health than the states right now. SO just do your research and asking around, don't give up. Good luck.

You can get a traveler's insurance but it's expensive. Usually you only get a policy if you will be in a foreign country for a minimum of 6 months. I don't recommend them. If your son's father has insurance, he can add him to his policy for the short period of time.
