Health Insurance Minnesota

Nelson Said:

does anyone know of any good personal health insurance in Minnesota?

We Answered:

If your fiance had coverage with the previous employer, he has COBRA rights. His previous employer should have sent him notification within 14 days of his termination date.

If he has not received the information, have him contact the previous employer and request COBRA continuation until his coverage becomes effective in October.

Otherwise, call around. BCBS, Medica, are a couple I know of that have individual coverage.

If his previous employer was not large enough for COBRA, then he would need to check into Minnesota State Continuation. In that situation, too, talk to the employer.

Anyone Familiar with Minnesota Care health care program/insurance?

We Answered:

You will have to reapply. Anytime coverage lapses, you will have to reapply for it.

Do you currently have insurance with your husband? If you do, it doesn't appear you would qualify any longer.

Are you sure you'll be covered under the dental program?

Sally Said:

about health insurance(MInnesota)?

We Answered:

I haven't seen any private dental policies that pay out more than they cost, after waiting periods and coverage limits.

Dental is ALWAYS seperate from health, unless you have welfare health insurance, and usually dental isn't covered for adults then, either.

*I* think you should locate a local dental school, and pay cash for heavily discounted work there.

How much do Birth control pills cost in minnesota without health insurance?

We Answered:

Going to Planned Parenthood will be much cheaper getting birth control from Target (it depends on your parents insurance). My girlfriend was actually getting it online with the http://www.pharmacynextdoor.com , but i would not sugest you to do that.

minnesota health insurance?

We Answered:

I've had to use this and it's a bit hard to jump through the hoops, but worth it.

To qualify, you must:
• Have a Social Security number or be willing to apply for one (unless you have religious objections)
• Live in Minnesota.
• If you are an adult and do not have children living with you, or if your children are over age 21, you must have lived in Minnesota for six months.
• Be a U.S. citizen or non-citizen lawfully residing in the U.S.
• Not have other health insurance now or have had health insurance (including Medicare), for at least four months except for Medical Assistance enrollees whose health insurance premium was paid for by Medical Assistance.
• Not be able to get health insurance through an employer who offers to pay at least half the monthly cost.
Some children may be eligible if they have health insurance. A MinnesotaCare enrollment representative will review your application and tell you if your insured children qualify.

About Health insurance in Minnesota and South Dacota?

We Answered:

True, you live in South Dakota. Depending on state laws, it's quite possible that you have to pay taxes in Minnesota, but you might be able to get a refund on some of them. You probably need to talk to a tax advisor in South Dakota.

If you want to apply for welfare health insurance, Medicaid, you have to apply in the state in which you LIVE. Many states do NOT give welfare health insurance to able bodied adults.

So, maybe you should buy some HEALTH insurance. You own your own home, so you probably don't qualify for WELFARE. But if you're young & healthy, you can probably buy real health insurance (without maternity coverage, thanks to the Health Reform Act), for under $100 a month.

Troy Said:

state health insurance (minnesota)?

We Answered:

There are different programs (medicaid) to apply for depending on whether or not you also have children. This link will take you to them:
