Brandy Said:

Life/Health Insurance Exam (NC&SC)?

We Answered:

The exam is actually not as difficult as the practice exams. It goes over the basics, and some questions are repeated in different wording. A 2-parter, life and health. You will have more than adequate time to finish it. Take you time studying for it, don't let anyone rush you into it, as insurance teachers are good at doing.
The hard part is NOT the exam, the tough issues are what will you do afterwards. How will you make money, as the insurance company will pay for nothing, as you will not get a salary, but only commission.
You will need a broad based network of friends, relatives, and neighbors to begin selling to. You might then lose your friends, relatives, and neighbors as they will not wish to hear your speech. If you go through these people, you will have to cold call, and oh what fun that is! You will be hung up on constantly, cussed at, told to leave them alone. if you actually get to set up an appointment, be prepared for a no show. Be prepared for setback after setback.
It takes years to actually make a decent amount of money. If 100 people get this job, more than 99 will fail after weeks or months. I do not mean to be negative, but these are the facts. Very few people succeed.
You must have a certain personality. You must be able to turn a no into a yes, or at least a maybe. You must know your policies backward and foreward. You must be disciplined, a go-getter, always look and act professional, and keep a positive outlook.
Your office where the company is headquartered will brainwah you into believing everyone make millions, as they will parade you through teh hallways where plaques are hanging showing the latest million dollar winner, who got the latest free vacation, who is the monthly top dog. You won't see the hundreds upon thousands who failed.
It's like going into the gambling casinos where the winners faces are plastered on the walls preceeding the casino itself. But again, you won't see the millions of losers keeping the casinos afloat.
If you lack any of what I have mentioned, discipline, tremendous desire to succeed, ability to sell what will make you more of a commission rather than what the client actually needs, then get out now and don't waste time.
