You don't need private health insurance when you apply for your 461 visa - your Case Officer will advise you if and when you need it. New Zealand permanent residents have no access to Australia in terms of travel, work privileges or reciprocal benefits. All are only available to to NZ citizens - that is why you need a 461 visa in the first place.

You must provide independent evidence that you have been living in a genuine and continuing relationship and you may need more than what you have listed. Check out the requirements for a foreign partner to prove their relationship with their Australian partner when applying for for a Partner visa. You probably won't need as much as yours is only a temporary visa, but it will give you some idea of what they will be looking for:

you forgot to mention that national health care is a world wide practice and that America is the LAST world power to have a national health care plan. Also national health care dates as far back as ancient Egypt, and dynasty China. We all know it wasn't the health care that brought these nations down. Actually an embarrassing fact is, China has the number 1 world wide rated health care

That's easy. Back after WWII when the government placed wage controls (Democrats by the way) the only way for employers to attract top talent was to offer a benefit package. This was health care. The government seized on what a coup this was having business shoulder the burden of this expense.

Now what they do is blame business because they find themselves at a competitive disadvantage in the world market place. What business's have been able to do the last 60 years + is nothing short of amazing. Now they are demonized for providing the best health care in the world.

36 countries with universal coverage experience better outcomes than we do, at about half the cost.

I would say that they have the better options.

Of course they love it. It's an entitlement program. You know who doesn't like it? The Canadians who need surgery. Then, just like the Canadian Premier who was just here, they come here for surgery because it's the best in the world.
