Sure if her feelings about the pregnancy would cause her to harm herself or someone else. Like if she would try to abort the baby herself or try to cause a miscarriage. Or if she would harm the baby once it was born. And some people would respond to that by saying she should just give it up for adoption. Well that is assuming that she is stable enough to got through that process or has people around her to help her with it and if she would even go to the hospital to deliver. She could just deliver at home or something and discard the baby.

..Most definitely they will. If she has been reported missing, they would do everything within their power to find her, especially if she has a history of mental illness and/or suicide attempts..If they have had no success in finding her, they will ask for help from the public or they may do it right away. A full description will be given to what is believed she was wearing at the time of her disappearance, and hopefully a recent picture...I hope you are not talking about yourself here..

I said that on answers weeks ago, but the men in white coats have not caught up with them yet . The wheels of justice grind exceedingly slow. Yes I think kids should have their internet activity monitored. I peak over my daughters shoulder, check the history, sit with her etc while she is on the internet. She understands that I will always do so and that shouldn't be doing things anyway on the internet that she wouldn't want me and the whole world to know and see.

*Every news story I've read so far suggests that this kid had some big time psychological issues. Not only should her internet usage been monitored but she should have been watched around her brothers and other kids, in counseling and constantly supervised. ESPECIALLY since she tried to commit suicide in the past. That's a freaking no brainer to me. Why wasn't it to her grandma and mom?

Okay this is mad, I was just reading that article and had a question myself. My question was going to be along the lines of who is failing the children in our society. My thought is that there are many traumatized parents out there who are critisized for not having the skills the 'acceptable' parents have, by these I mean the one's that cope well, have good family relations and sound judgement. Then you have an increasing number of parents who have grown up in the social services system with emotional scarring that I don't know how they could have prevented.
I was a child essentially brought up in care and despite a great traditional upbringing, as an adult have always had an emotional deficit to a degree that has always seemed have an effect on my self esteem.
I have children myself now and it can be a daily struggle to achieve what other mothers would see as effottless emotional ability to parent. I think it is easy to critisize and hard to fix.
Funny how I also read this morning about how women are deliberatley looking for security in life and are turning to prison to fulfil this. Obviously somewhere along the line there are needy people and those subjected to a state upbringing are among those that have the biggest deficits later on
Systems will totally fail humanity if they simply remain a series of policies. It is often a case of needing to learn by example and I do not know a system that does this. Some of the best examples I have seen of this 'correction' of deficits are these boot camp for families type programmes that send you out of a bad normality for a while.
Supernanny is a fantastic insight but how mant parents who struggle have access to such a service if training for parents.
For the future, my suggestion would be to keep families together but MAKE them change through positive role modelling and continued input.
Some of society is just an awful reality.

Atheism was never the state religion of the Soviet Union. The communist party never succeeded in wiping out religion. Even today, only about a quarter of Russians are atheists.

I know a Chinese Christian who was allowed to leave China about 20 years ago.

The bit about atheists not being willing to humble themselves enough to obey instructions from God is one of the dumbest misconceptions about atheism and complete BS. When I was a Christian I decided to read the Bible from cover to cover to become a better Christian. By the time I had finished I knew the whole thing was the creation of humans, not the word of any god.

Your post showed an extreme arrogance that I've come to expect from Christians. Not only do you consider yourself superior to all atheists, you think you're superior to the vast majority of Christians, too. And you have the gall to think that you've "humbled yourself." You've merely found a way to be arrogant while telling yourself that you're better than everyone else because you're more humble and, incidentally, you have the "high intellect" necessary to worship "properly."

You haven't had a proper relationship with this woman yet you have had a child and for years you've been absent - why the hell do you suddenly expect it to be all flowers and romance cos you've committed to someone who obviously didn't want that commitment.

Didn't the I want a divorce over and over again ring the bells that are ringing in your ears now. Or is it just that you really heard them but didn't really listen?

You know the mistakes you have made, you have allowed this woman to hurt you and you are so busy trying to blame yourself for this mess you are blinked to the common sense that you should have got out sooner. Respect to you for trying to give it a go but why the hell are you using this as a excuse to destroy your life!!!

You are 35 virtually in the prime of your life so get a real grip - you must have friends or work colleagues around you - a neighbour even try and simply pass the time of day with - concentrate on the simple things around you - when you wake in the morning look at your self in the mirror and say these words - TODAY IS GOING TO BE BETTER - TODAY IM NOT A SHELL - IM A MAN,

You will and can get through this - you have a son that will eventually need you.
