Oxford is a company based in CT that is owned by United HealthCare - the second largest health insurance provider in the country. It is a good company, although they have problems like any other.

Birth control is covered in most cases, depending on what state you live in, and sometimes what company you work for. Certain companies, like religious organizations, can opt out of BC coverage.

I would suggest asking your HR department for a copy of a benefit summary. They should have them available for you to review prior to your enrollment.

If you only ever use in network coverage, this won't hurt you. If, though, you ever go on vacation, or travel in any way, it could hurt you a way lot if something happened while you were away from your network area.

Just look at your last five years or so of claims. How many of them are "out of network"?
