We Answered:

Sounds sincere to me. Best to be upfront about no experience & then quickly move on to WHY you would still be the best candidate. ANy bullsh*** gets quickly founf out so I think you are taking the right approach. Best.

Info about work in the QLD police force please :)?

We Answered:

Large county and state jail systems normally have a psychology unit with small mental wards. This may be a good place to start.

Mr Howard. When will NSW get its GST back?

We Answered:

When XYZ freezes over, get it? Write English, not in codes.

Jack Said:

If I just quit my job, am I entitled to last weeks pay?

We Answered:

I'm afraid unless you bring some muscle - nobody is going to hand you 500 out of the till, you would have to prove it - and all the witnesses are going to lie - in order to keep their jobs. If you have some paperwork showing that you clocked in and out and that payroll has been out of the till since ? - good luck with that.

American Union Electrician looking to move to NSW/QLD with family: need advice on finding work & housing.?

We Answered:

I live in Brisbane and I am an electrician by trade and now teach electrical apprentices at TAFE.

To work for an employer is Australia you need an “electrician’s licence” these are known by various names in the different states. All states are responsible for licensing electricians that want to work in that state.

This is a pain if you live in a border region as you require licences from both states.

If you wish to be self employed you require an “Electrical contractors licence “which, in most states, requires you to do a business course.

To get an Electricians licence in Australia you will have to produce all your documents regarding your training and qualifications.

You will then have to sit a trade test. This test is quite extensive and involves a lot of rule book work as well as practical demonstrations of your testing and safe working skills. These assessments are usually carried out at TAFE and the results issued to the candidate, they can approach the electrical safety office and apply for a licence. Start here

AS you cannot do any electrical work on fixed wireing with out a licence you should apply to the electrical safety office for a permit to work and get a job with an electrical contractor as a supervised electrician, the contractor can then verify your "hands on" skills
It all sounds difficult but it’s not too bad.

Leslie Said:

Am I able to claim for unfair dismissal?

We Answered:

I am confused by this and your other questions. You are not a hairdresser (and your previous questions show an absence of knowledge of basic hairdressing techniques) so what was your role in the salon? It sounds like you actually quit, and were not fired. you gave them an ultimatum and followed through. NEVER give an employer an ultimatum, as this leaves the company the ability to "fire" you with no legal backlash.

Normal practice following OD??

We Answered:

Did they schedule you for a follow-up appointment with a psychiatrist or other mental health professional? If you are feeling suicidal, please go back to the hospital and tell them that you are in crisis.

To answer your question, it is not standard practice (at least not in my state) to release someone who had purposely OD'd within 24 hours.

Discuss It!
