It's unlikely that you will get affordable insurance for a short term situation. I would call a local dialysis unit, and ask to talk to their social worker. Every unit has one. He/she will have much more information than you'll find on here. You will also be able to find out how much it would cost to pay for it without insurance (probably a lot!).

as you are studying chinese you should e able to talk to yor school on the current regulations, when i came in, after 4 months of studying you could then get an ARC and the health insurance. i am honestly not sure of the cost, but it is not very high.
the arc is a bit annoying, so i never did you... you need to have 50000 in the bank, pay for the next semester, and have about 3000 for the arc an 1000 for the resident certificate also you will need a health check which is another 1000 +/-
Al together its like 55000 plus your tuition fee for one semester. my one semester was 20000 so for m it would have been 75000 .. i thought it was too crazy, so i started working instead.

Any guest you have staying should purchase there travel insurance in there home country. Most insurance has restriction on the nationality of the user.

I travel to the states and have found that the UK travel insurance is much better value for money than what is available in the USA. $70 for six months covers and up to $10 million dollars worth of treatment with no surcharge
