4 Year Medical Careers

Bob Said:

I have been going to school for a medical career the past 4 year, but my heart is in acting what should I do?

We Answered:

Follow your heart and do what you want to do.

You only live once. If you decide to change your mind, don't think that "oh well 4 years of school for a career in medicine all for nothing."

Just think "Now I can start what I've been wanting to do for so long which will make me happy!"

Life is too short to be in a career which you are not satisfied in. Trust me.... do what makes you happy, otherwise you might look back in time and say "damn I wish I would have done that."

Chad Said:

What other careers can a 4 year degree in molecular biology lead to other than medicine?

We Answered:

You can work in research in academia or pharmaceutical companies. Food companies will also hire you to be a research analyst or some type of analyst. A molecular biologist has a lot of uses in different types of fields.

When I was searching for a job, I found many positions opened for a molecular biologist in research. If you don't like the prospect of going into research and you don't get into medical school, you could always try another type of professional school, like Optometry, Pharmacy, or Dental school, or just regular graduate school. You have plenty of choices, so don't think you're narrowed down to just medical school. Good luck!

Is there a 4 year diagnostic medical sonographer career?

We Answered:

There are bachelor's programs out there, but very few. That's because an Associate's degree is the most common way to get into this field, and completely sufficient for this career. The only benefit to a bachelor's is if you want to teach ultrasound or be a department head at a hospital. Certificate programs are usually only open to those with a prior degree.

So if you want to go through a bachelor's, you will probably have to relocate since there are very few of these programs offered. And make sure you only go through a program that's accredited: http://caahep.org/Find-An-Accredited-Pro…
