Careers In Medical Administration

Alexander Said:

How to start get a Administration job with no experience?

We Answered:

Hi. I'm not from your area, but I made a career change into Administration many years ago. I went from retail management to administration. I would suggest to be willing to start from the bottom. I started as a part time file clerk for a major credit card company. I assisted the admin. assistant for 1 year. While I was a file clerk, I absorbed whatever work the admin. passed to me and I took many computer training courses. Eventually the admin quit and I slid into her position.

You must be able to multi-task and be a self starter. Good grammar and speach is a must. Also, the way you present yourself is also important. Especially to larger companies. Many times you'll have to think way ahead of the game. Meaning you have to constantly be on your toes. If you get a good boss, you'll find the career to be very rewarding. Many times I was treated to days off at the spa and whenever the team traveled, I had a wonderful suite.

The best to you and your career change.

What major to choose for bachelors pursuing Med School?

We Answered:

They might well help you run the business of practicing medicine later on. (A friend of mine decided to become a dentist after he got an MBA, and he found that when he headed of into practice it helped him in getting money from the bank for his office and equipment.)

But they wouldn't help you get into medical school, or help you get through it.

where can i get a scholarship?

We Answered:

The best option would be to do your homework and explore other schools, such as community colleges or technical schools. their programs are much cheaper and your credits will be able to transfer anywhere to any college of university that is accreditted. did you ask the school questions about transfering your credits in case you decide to move on in the future, and this seems to be a costly certificate, when you can go to a community college and obtain financial aid to help cover the cost which will cost you about 3 to 4 thousand dollars, and most colleges offer daycare for your infant son. please think about what you are doing, do you really wan to pay off a loan for a couple years instead of pocketing that money ?

good luck! give us an update

So I think i have a little issue....?

They all have the same educational benefits but if you enlist in the Coast Guard you have the least chance of using them. It is all up to your command and if you have a bad leader (and there are plenty) you won't be able to go to college while in the Coast Guard. I know one woman who the command did not allow her to go to college because he said that she was "not smart enough" and after she got out, used her GI Bill and scholarships, did undergrad in 2.5 years graduating with an almost perfect GPA, did grad school in 1.5 years and now at a Doctorate program..all that her command said "was not smart enough for school" Did I mention that she had a near perfect score on the ASVAB so her intelligent level should never have been questioned. i also know of some Coast Guardsmen that are a dumb of a rock but are able to enlist for college on-line or at a community college.
I know in the Army that college is required to advance to a certain rank.
