What is a good paying medical career?

We Answered:

Hmm, you only want to go to school for only 4-5 years so that eliminates being a Doctor and surgeon etc. So the next best thing could be a nurse. And nursing is a good job, my uncle is one and he makes somewhere around 80k per year, but he does have lots of experience though.

As for making 75k with only 2 years experience im not sure about that, unless you *prove* yourself very good at what you do and work at a top notch hospital.

The average salary for a Registered nurse in Akron ohio is only 50,989, which according to your salary goals isn't that high. The pay can vary differently considering the metropolitan are of which you work in.

If you work in some small town then i recon it wouldn't be very high pay, but if you were in L.A. --like my uncle, you'd probably be more up their. But also there are other careers in the medical field such as, Radiologist which deals with x-rays, CT scanning,MRI, fluoroscopy and ultrasound etc. You would take a 4 year degree program plus 4 years of Medical school to become one, and they get pretty good pay --315k/year but oh yea, you want only 4-5 years schooling.

Well then you could also try to be a radiological technologist which is either a 2 year degree program or a 4 year degree program and the average pay is about 55k/year. What they do is examine CT scans, develop x-ray film etc. and works under the Radiologist which is higher than a radiological technician.

You can also look into Biomedical Engineering, which is a 4 year degree program. Biomedical engineering deals with the making of medical machines to improve treatment and diagnosis of medical problems. And there's also branches within biomedical engineering such as, tissue engineering, and genetic engineering which you can explore on your own. The average salary of a biomedical engineer is 51,000
