Healthcare Job Search

Lance Said:

Would getting a few certifications help my job search?

We Answered:

If these are things you want to do, yes, getting certifications could put you ahead of others who don't have certification.

Think about it - everyone qualified for the job should have the same minimum qualifications - what makes someone stand out more than the next? Experience, Certifications, continuing education, volunteer work...

You are looking for anything to put you ahead of those who are on the same level as you are right now. How you write your resume will also make a big difference in what employers see and learn about you up front.

Make yourself stand out in any positive way you can.

Job search efforts not enough?

We Answered:

Friend, go and learn some skills like soldering or welding. You'll get a job. That's the problem most people seem to have is 150 other people with the same "no skills" can do that job. You could learn how to solder in 15 minutes. Braze in 15 minutes. It's so easy but people would rather push a piece of paper across the table. Learn a couple of skills that are in need and you'll get a job. Plus if your girlfriend is nagging now, wait until you are married. Might want to think twice about that one.
