High Paying Medical Jobs

Frances Said:

What are some high paying medical jobs that take around eight years of college education?

We Answered:

Pharmacist- at least 2 years of undergrad and pharmacy school is 4 years, but some pharm schools require a bachelor's, which would make it 8 years total to get your pharm.D. Average salary in my city is between $100,000-$110,000.

High paying medical jobs....?

We Answered:

It all depends on what you're doing, where you are and how good you are at it. I've never heard of a Nurse making more than the median pharmacists. I've also never known it to take 2 years for EMT-B and 4 for EMT-P, either things have drastically changed or some people are poor sources of info.

Sylvia Said:

Marlene Said:

are there any high paying medical jobs without become a doctor or a nurse anesthetist?

We Answered:

Yes. Just being a RN (Registered Nurse) pays a lot as well. You can make between $50,000 and $80,000 (the $80,000 is in the Bay Area of California) depending on where you live and work. Also after a couple years of experience you can become a travel RN and make even more and sometimes you get free housing for where you are working or if not you get extra compensation for an estimated cost of housing and you rent an apartment or stay at a hotel. Nursing can be done with an accredited ADN (Associates Degree in Nursing) or a BSN (Bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree). Also finding a job will be easy because there has been a shortage of Nurses and the baby boomers that are Nurses are getting close to retiring ssoon (next couple of years) so there will be an even bigger shortage.

unpopular high paying medical jobs?

We Answered:

That job is called a cardio bypass perfusionist (or a "pump tech"). While relatively unknown, there aren't a great deal of these jobs either (my hospital uses one). There are also sleep techs (do sleep studies), EEG techs, tumor registrars, play therapists, orthotic makers, prosthetic makers, and quite a few others.
