Interesting Medical Careers

Does anyone know of summer programs for high schools students interested in medical careers? We Answered:
There are many programs out there. You didn't really specify the most important things--what area you live in (north, south, etc), how long you want to stay, what kind of program (residential, day-to-day), are you willing to travel, and how much are you willing to spend. But I'll try to help anyway...
If you want to stay for about 10-12 days, try the NSCL- National Student Leadership Conference. They are held in San Fransisco, New York, And D.C. (also in Switzerland to study abroad). They are pretty expensive and and you still have to pay to get there. I was invited to represent my state but it's about 2600 dollars without transportation...so NOPE.
The Rotary Program is a good one. They send you to prep schools for six-weeks (kinda long time). You get to go to Ivy-League schools. You live in the dorms. The program pays your application fee (usually about 60-100 dollars), tuition and transportation, based on income). I missed my deadline for this one. :-(
My favorites would have to be the Upward Bound Programs. They have one called Upward Bound. They are mostly area programs where they choose schools to participate. You also stay for six weeks. Some programs pay you and some don't.
The other ones are called Upward Bound Math and Science. If your school doesn't participate in one of the regular ones, you could do this one. They are regional. The one I'm doing is at CAU (clark Atlanta University). They pay for your transportation, food, and place to stay. It's six-weeks too. I'm not sure if they pay, but I know a lot of other Math/Science programs pay.
Six Weeks is a LONG time to be away from your family. So just click around Yahoo Search and I'm sure you'll find something that fits you.
Good Luck!

What is a rare, interesting medical career? We Answered:
Others have suggested well, but also look into radiology and medical imaging. These are a little different.I'm familiar with ENFP and MBTI in general, but I can't relate that to the question. Except that you might be better suited in the roles that directly deal with patients, due to your extraversion.

what are some really interesting and challenging medical careers? We Answered:
I am interested in the Physician Assistant program and considering it thoroughly. You will be a doctor but with less responsibilities however with so much flexibility and of course a good salary.Andre Said:
interesting/not well known medical professions? We Answered:
If you're talking about medical careers in the class of pharm, dental, med, BSN (with options for anesthesia, practitioner, and other advanced training), chiropracty, Physician's Assistant are all options. Graduate studies in biology, chemistry, physics, forensics, even computer science can have huge applications to medicine as well.
