How about a Psych. Nurse. I know some. They come in all colors, some wear glasses, some wear whatever is necessary when they are at work.

They can work in hospitals, clinics, ERs, or Urgent Care places.

It's all up to you to decide.

apply to a hospital as a patient care technician it will give you the experience that you need to be a good nurse. you will learn from the ground up. you could also apply for a hospital transporter position. hospitals love to hire nursing students. even in a clinic you need to have experience. you have to understand medical jargon. i think that a hospital would be a great place for you to start. they will be quick to hire you when you finish school and may even offer you a scholarship to help pay expenses.

Fortunately you need actually training and licensure to provide healthcare services to people, contrary to the roles portrayed on television. Any interaction with hospitalized patients will provide you with needed people skills, such as how to deal with a patient who is irate over a new diagnosis but is taking it out on you, or how to deal with a frightened little old lady to get her to cooperate with necessary testing. Now would be the time to acquire such skills because you are not permitted to perform actual medical services- you can concentrate on the psychosocial needs of the patients, which you probably noticed in shadowing, the nurses and doctors don't have much time for.
