List All Medical Careers

Agnes Said:

What are all of the jobs in the medical field?

We Answered:

The medical field has a WIDE variety of jobs one can find themselves in. From nursing to an overseas medical researcher, the possibilities are endless. What you want to do first, is narrow them down by choice and skill.

You should know what type of
a) area of medicine you think you will be skilled in :are you a people person? (physician) are you a problem solver? are you better at chemistry than biology (pharmacy)
b) and what do you want to learn more about (ex. animals, human body, plants, research, or solve problems)

or if you don't know what you want to do then, you should take a career test on Career Cruising. Your school is likely to have a PIN and password/ account for you. If not, it's really not difficult to make one since it is free.
Another website that is really helpful is College Board. You can pick a subject, and research the career fields that apply. The last website, which is more of a college finder and discussion finder, is College Confidential. College Confidential allows you to learn more about a college/best places to getting an education for the career you want in an open forum. It too, requires an account. If you're worried about internet safety on any of these websites, I can assure you they are safe, and I have been using all of them for years now (since the beginning of my high school career).

P.S. If my information is unable to help you, there are always school counselors and teachers, or just suggested career websites in the library/lrc that you can utilize.

Hope you are able to find what you are looking for!

What medical careers can convicted felons obtain?

We Answered:

The best I can recommend is to contact your probation officer and ask them how to go about having the felonies removed. I know it's a long shot but it's worth a try. You may be able to write a request to the judge and state your progress and the predicament you're and in and that this record is hampering your efforts to establish a career in your field of education.

It's hard to get a job anywhere if you're a felon, period. I can't think of any field of medicine that doesn't require state licensure. Even relatively minor convictions are scrutinized when you're in a position of trust. A classmate of mine was unable to pass a background check to do clinical rotation in a hospital because she was charged with domestic assault (for pushing her drunk roommate during an argument 4 years ago).
