List Of Careers In Medical Field

Jackie Said:

What are some careers in the medical field?

We Answered:

I think most physicians or surgeons go a lot longer than 8 years. One field a lot of people don't know a lot about is Audiology. The field is growing and was the number 1 occupation on U.S. news and world report last year. There is a lot of science background you have to learn about the ear and how your brain processes sound. You can go into different aspects of the field such as adults, children, hearing aids, cochlear implants, balance testing, interoperative monitoring, electroacoustics and so on. The degree is a doctorate in Audiology Au.D. and is exactly 8 years to complete. Four years of undergrad and four years of grad. Of course if you can complete your undergrad faster you can get it done sooner. It is possible to get you undergrad faster than four years if you know what you want to do ahead of time with college credit obtained in high school a few summer classes and a full 15 hour semester. I am an audiologist and I love it. I love to interact with patients and feel like I really helped someone. Thats what it is all about.

What are some careers in the medical field that require an associates degree or less (will pick best answer)?

We Answered:

I went to pharmacy tech school and that took me 6 months. I got certified and instantly got a job. I work at a hospital and get paid $13.50 an hour. I definitely recommend it. You can help people without dealing with blood, feces and stuff like that.

Roland Said:

What careers does not allow you to have a social life?

We Answered:

Unluckily, I hate to break it to you but by going into the medical field you practically trade something in your life whether it be friends, boyfriend/girlfriend, family, hobbies, or whatever. I had friends who became nurses and some lost their romantic relationships and social lives due to this. Many also gained ridiculous amounts of weight and have gotten sick due to stress related illnesses. I wouldn't even want to imagine what those studying for Medical doctor's go through. Sure the salaries are very worthwhile but I think only if it's your true passion and calling. If not, don't even go there. Instead, go for Business or Computer Technology, which although are still absorbing and stressful, will not place that much toll on you and can actually bring you higher salaries.
