The counselor at your high school should be able to provide you with info. There are way too many careers in the medical field to list them all here, let alone give detailed info about each. To be a medical doctor you need 10 years or more of post-secondary study. Nursing generally requires two or three years. Many technicians jobs also require just a couple years study, or sometimes even less.Good luck.

Don't take any job for the high salary - get a job that you have a passion for, that you enjoy doing, that you would do for less money.I would want to go to a doctor that has a passion for his specialty, not his salary.
As far as recession proof, people will get sick during any economy. However, they may not get elective surgeries during bad times - so avoid cosmetic surgery.
