Kimberly Said:

Is it possible to enroll in both medical school and graduate school in an unrelated program, simultaneously?

We Answered:

Absolutely not. Medical school is way too time consuming. You are in about 26 hours of classes PER SEMESTER. You have to eat, breathe, sleep medical school. You barely have time to spend with your significant other (if there is one) and do your laundry. There is no way you could even attend the classes for the graduate program. Med school is a set schedule, 8-5 everyday...no way around it. Then, you get to take about an hour off after school....then study for the rest of the night until bed. Every day.

Now, you could easily get your undergrad degree, then go on to your masters program which will be about 2 years long, maybe not even that. Then, if you still want, go to medical school. A masters would help you out anyway. But there is no way you can do med school and a masters at the same time...you could probably never get the loans for two completely different programs. Plus, why would you want to? That masters would be completely inferior to the medical degree...and you would probably never use it. No reason to waste your time and be that stressed out.

Vanessa Said:

Is it true that you can major in anything and still get into medical school?

We Answered:

You can major in anything you want as long as you take your required pre-med courses (1 year of organic chemistry, 1 year of inorganic chemistry, 1 year of physics, 1 year of biology, 1 year of english, and 1 year of mathematics), get good grades in them, and kill the MCATs. Good luck.

Casey Said:

Would it be Crazy to Pursue Both a Career in Medical Anthropology and Archaeology?

We Answered:

Forensic Anthropology and Archaeology are far enough apart that majoring in both will not help you with either one. To be a forensic anthropologist, all you really need is a Master's but to get tenured, you need a PhD. To be an Archaeologist, you need to have a PhD. Without it, you will just be a ditch digger. Any Grad school is not going to accept you if you do not know which one you want to focus on and most will not offer classes in both. Colleges have specialties too. Pick one or the other. It will be better in the end. You could double major in both at the undergrad level (if your school offers separate degrees) but in Grad school you have to specialize. Archaeology is not physical/biological anthropology. They are separate sub-fields of anthropology. Forensic Anthropology (what Bones does) is not archaeology. It is different. Hope this helps.

Medical Anthropology?

We Answered:

One of the professors in my department is a medical anthropologist. She does anthropological epidemiology - specifically, computer modeling of cultural behavior's impact on disease patterning.

You do not need to go to medical school; however, you will need AT LEAST a master's degree in a program with a strong biological anthropology field (and preferably a Ph.D.).

Medical Compliance (Health care workers please)?

We Answered:

1) Radiologic Technologist
2)Last visit-illness(stage 4 renal failure)
3)Told to begin Procrit shots at home;once a week.
4)Began taking shots once a week until the last week. I changed the date of the 4th shot.
5)Shots made me sick so I took the shot 2 days later. Tailored it to my schedule, a 'down' day so that I could stay in bed if needed.
