Doris Said:

Interview for a full time career with medical benefits, but trying to get pregnant? Do I have to tell?

We Answered:

That's your personal business...you don't have to tell them! If you did tell them you were TTC, but didn't actually get pregnant, you would be risking NOT getting the job!! How would you feel if that happened? If you do get pregnant, though, they don't have to know it was because you were TRYING...that's not their business!! And if you did get the job then ended up getting pregnant anyway, think of the benefits you would get!! :) Good luck! Hope I helped...

Tony Said:

Is it really necessary to go to graduate school after college to go to medical school or law school?

We Answered:

Do you have excellent grades, all the pre-med requirements, plus project or work experience already? Have you have passed the MCATs (or the equivalent for Law School, if that's your choice)?

If not, there are colleges which allow you to meet the requirements in an intense post-graduate program, in one year (if you apply yourself full full-time).

Another option is to enhance your life experience, by working in medical research, volunteering in an impoverished neighborhood or country, or challenging yourself by climbing Mount Everest or traveling to world on $10 a day for 6 months. You will still have to complete the pre-med requirements and pass the MCATs.

Medicine and Law allow you to serve others, whether you earn a large sum or not. Participating in activities that build your mind, body, and soul, will stand you in good stead, whatever the final outcome, so go for it! One step at a time...

Dolores Said:

Is "academic dismissal" from medical school a career killer, even if you got an M.D. elsewhere?

We Answered:

If the person was in good standing then why were they being academically dismissed? Why did they settle? It's extremely rare for a medical school to damage a future doctor's career a few weeks before graduation. There's a something missing in this story, but I don't know what it is.

If you plan on "exposing" a medical school talk with a licensed lawyer who specializes in medical / academic issues first and make sure you understand the legal consequences of your actions. If you believe federal crimes were committed then discuss that with your lawyer, too.

Also, if your real dream is to be a Dr. then you have a clean record at this point and you might just want to move on with your education and life.

Whistle blowers are rarely rewarded. No good deed goes unpunished. Unless you are rich you a going to battle with a wealthy institution and you are a single medical student. Get good legal counsel before you do anything you might regret.

I am not a lawyer. Only licensed lawyers can give legal advise.

Ella Said:

How do I gain enough intelligence to get into a good international college?

We Answered:

Hi, I admire your determination to succeed. My recommendation would be to take things one step at a time. You would be in high school at the moment, make sure you choose lots of high-level science and math courses that will prepare you well for university. Study hard and see if you can get involved in activities at your local universities, this will allow you to meet other bright students and get a better idea of what happens at uni. At most unis you have to have done another course before upgrading to medicine, choose a science course and try to get experience in labs and hospitals even if it is volunteering. Experience means a lot when you are looking for work. Make sure you spend plenty of time preparing for your medical entrance exam so you ace it.
Best of luck to you, hope this helps.

Looking for a completely new career. Thinking about something in the medical field.?

We Answered:

Try looking into being an EMT. These positions require a short training period (less than 1 year) to get started and it's very exciting and rewarding.

Good luck!
