Medical Career Pathway
Dale Said:
What is a good career pathway for me to look into?We Answered:
Yup dentistry is cool it takes around 6 to 8 years. But if you want to make fair money with just an associates or a BS just take Technical radiology it takes 2 to 4 years and the pay is fair. But dentistry will give you the most $ because you can specialize in orthodontics, maxilofacial surgery, etc...but remember even dentistry deals with blood, not much, but you will see blood. Imo dentistry for a career of 6 to 8 years is awesome. Good luck on your journey ;)Melvin Said:
For a career in Medical Research, do I need a medical degree? We Answered:
I think you had better talk to your professors about this one. There is plenty of room for research in the basic sciences, including physiology and biochemistry, which has a direct impact on medicine, but you would find yourself restricted when it came to managing problems arising out of your experimental work in humans. If you already have a neuroscience degree, you could find a fast track into medicine.Theresa Said:
So you're in the medical field now, how did you decide to specialize in what you do now?We Answered:

Medical Training: how does it compare internationally? We Answered:
I trained in the US. After high school, I completed four years of undergraduate education in chemistry prior to medical school. Part of me thinks that it would have been easier to just go straight from high school into medical school. It's really hard to find a practical use for many of the things I learned in chemistry (organic chemistry reactions, solving Schroedinger's equation, etc.) in real life. Lots of what I learned in my chemistry degree will never be used again. On the other hand, when I was doing my undergraduate degree, I learned *how* to learn. High school is poor training for medical school. It would be hard to jump right from one to the other without a stepping stone. Maybe only a small amount of information I learned in undergrad comes in handy when I interact with patients, but I spent 4 years becoming a better, more well-rounded student during those undergraduate years.
The other thing I'd have to say is that high school really doesn't do a good job of making people stand out among their peers. Some students do, yes, but others are just sort of part of the crowd. No one has research experience, etc. If you were to attempt to get into medical school right after high school, it would be much harder to select the best and the brightest and the ones who would excel. If you make them go through 4 years of undergraduate education, there is a longer period for people to be sifted. It also gives the students a better opportunity to make wiser decisions about their careers. Most 18-year olds don't really know what they want to do with their lives. It is more likely that a 22-year old college graduate has a better idea of whether they actually want to go to med school instead of a pursue a different career.

please tell me how to join as Medical Represntative in MNC?We Answered:
First of all what is a BPO?If you want to work for a Multinational Pharma Company you can try looking at jobstreet.com.
Most of the top pharma companies advertise there.
Or you could try your luck as a walk in Applicant.
Sanofi-Aventis has it's office at the second floor of the Feliza Bldg in Legaspi Village Makati.
Or you could try United Laboratories at United Street in Mandaluyong.
It would take guts and talent to make it as a PMR.
Goodluck!!!
