Is medical billing a good career to look into? Is it in high demand? We Answered:
Yes, it is a pretty good career. You can work in hospitals, doctor's offices, in home care agencies...etc... I billed for Medicaid before I came to work where I do now. I work in a county job now. It depends on where you live as to how much money you make though. I live in NC and a lady that came to work with me a few years ago left a state out west making twenty some dollars an hour to work in a grocery store. When she came here she was making less than half that. It depends on where you live. One important thing to remember though is there will always be medical offices around no matter what, so you should be able to find a job pretty easily. If nothing else, check out your local counties website - they always have job openings.Rafael Said:
a good medical career for a woman who plans to have kids?We Answered:
IT depends on how much time you plan to put into your education.....are you looking at an Associates Degree, a Bachelors, or becoming a physician? Basically any patient-care professional position in the hospital setting will allow you to be with your children without having to ship them off to daycare. I I've been in Maternal/Newborn nursing for about 15 years. I've worked part-time evenings and also weekend-option shifts. My children have never been to a "babysitter" or daycare. I simply "tag-team" parent with my husband.Any career such as nursing, respiratory care, radiology tech (x-ray), ultrasound, pharmacist, etc is great for variable shifts. Physicians are an call quite a bit and with that, you do miss birthday parties, school functions, etc.
