Medical Careers In The Military
Georgia Said:
Which Military Branches will help you with your medical career? We Answered:
I'm not a doctor...nor do I play one on TV (ha, ha). I was however a Navy Corpsman. I was given outstanding medical training that I am still using today at my current job. (I am a Medical Assistant right now)There are many advanced training options for enlisted people. There are commissioning programs to especially in Nursing. I do know that there are a lot of programs for doctors. One of the doctors I used to work for went through medical school through the Navy. He was a cool dude, and a flight surgeon.
I put a couple of links below to describe some of the programs.
Forgive me if I am partial to the Navy...because I was in the Navy. I am sure other branches have good programs too...
NOTE: You can go through Medical School on the Navy's dime if you just want to go to school. You can do that too. You do not have to be enlisted to do that.

What are the chances of pursuing a medical career after the military? We Answered:
Your chances for med school are entirely dependent upon your college grades and your MCAT score after college.Prior military service in a medical field will not really play any role.

Which Military branch is best for a medical career? We Answered:
if you want to do medical go into the Navy.If you work in the medical field in the navy youhave a lot more training because your won't be dealing with only navy personal but marine too.Seth Said:
what are some of the most exciting medical careers in the military? We Answered:
Navy Hospital Corpsman if you can get it. If you can hang with Marines on their missions and want an exciting medical job, I can't recommend it enough. You could also do 68W in the Army. Those are the Combat Medics. Pretty much the same job, just replace the Marines with soldiers.
