You can get an Associates degree to be and Ultrasound sonographer (DMS). It takes two years, and there arent that many pre req classes. The pay as i've researched it pretty good. Hope i've helped.

Careers as a Police Officer, EMT, Fireman, Paramedic, or in Corrections?

We Answered:

I am a fireman to be i take my State test come end of january, a police officer requires you to enter an academy for about 8 weeks i believe? i am unsure of the salaries but any class helping you with laws or working with people will help with all of these jobs. a Fire fighter has 3 main certifications you can get, a 36-hour course, allowing you to be in a burning building but that law may be changed within this year or next, a 120-hour course, and a 240-hour course, i myself am taking the 240, the 120 and 240 are more indepth courses. The 36 and 120 hour courses are more for volunteers going off of the volunteer department i am associated with. The 240-hour course is more so for anyone going to be a career firefighter for a continuous job after school. The EMT-B (Emergency Medical Tech - Basic) is basic prehospital care, this is about a 136-hour course i believe, i myself will also take this course after i complete the fire portion, this is recommended for any firefighter who will make a living from this. a paramedic is an extension of the EMT-B and normally helps with getting a job as a firefighter, to be a firefighter/paramedic. I do not know much about Correctional careers so i will not express much. All i know on that subject is you need to know how to work with people and have good self defense knowledge(close quarters self defense, disarming weapons of assaultants)

But i do believe a Paramedic's license must be acquired through college, I will be gaining this along with a Fire Science Associate's degree during college. These mostly all tie in together when studying them.

Hopefully this helped you a long, Thanks.

Are the salaries of certain allied health careers at some community colleges overestimated?

We Answered:

If you work at a doctor's office rather than a hospital, a sonographer works 8 AM - 5 PM Mon - Fri and makes $45,000 - $50,000 to start.

Francisco Said:

what are jobs or salaries i can get with diploma Medical coding and health info. technician?

We Answered:

I am thinking about the same career. I just went to monster.com and saw salaries ranging from $22 to $30 per hour. Most do want experienced people, so it doesn't show salaries for those just starting out.
You should see a school guidance counselor, they can give you the info you want and maybe even help you find a position after you graduate.
Best wishes!
