How do i choose a career? i am in 10th grade and i need to start figuring it out?

We Answered:

Seriously don't worry about it. Who the heck knows what they want to do in the 10th grade with the exception of a few people. Now I'm guessing you're wondering for college major purposes. Here is what you do. Do NOT go and get a major that is useless in the real world like history, or art, etc. Learn a profession, something that can make you money in the real world. Once you get that profession you can try new things and if they don't work out you can always fall back on that profession. If you want medical career may I recommend pharmecology. It is HOT now. $100K right out of school and no ridiculous school like a doctor. As for the talking, etc. you can try being a psychologist but you're talking years of school, but at least you make good money when you get out. As for that most of your other counselor type jobs are good if you enjoy them, but they don't pay the best. Good Luck and Really, don't worry about it!

What medical careers would involve working with children?

We Answered:

Yes you would need to get a nursing degree to work in pediatrics. You would not necessarily have to work with seniors at first but you would encounter seniors at some point during your training and once out of school you may not be able to find a job in pediatrics right away. if you are planning on going to nursing school you will have to learn to deal with all ages of patients.

Crystal Said:

How can I achieve a balance of a successful medical career and a happy family life?

We Answered:

Being a medical doctor isn't an occupation; it's a life-long commitment to a vocation, and the studying never ends. The hours suck, the training is BEYOND rigorous, and even when that formal training is over, your family life can easily take a back seat to your profession.
You don't meed to be a medical doctor in order to work in medicine with kids.
All the physical rehabilitation therapies require a master's degree; you wouldn't need 4 years of medical school plus a residency to become a speech pathologist, occupational therapist or physical therapist. All allow for part and full-time employment, which can be ideal when one values a family life.
All pay very well. Investigate pay on salary.com.
