Paramedic looking to go to medical school?

We Answered:

Your bachelor's can be in anything that you want. It doesn't have to be in chemistry or biology. You do need to complete the prerequisites for medical school and your academic advisor can help you with that. Prerequisites are basically the same for every medical school but some require more courses than others to be accepted. Good luck!

I have a question about community service for hospitals in New York City?

We Answered:

Hi! NY Presbyterian is a wonderful place to volunteer. I volunteered there for 2 summers, once as a high school freshman and then again as a sophomore. I worked full time, so I think you will probably be able to get a lot of hours there. Take a look at their volunteer site here: http://nyp.org/volunteer/

Good luck!

Which one of these careers are the best to go into? Medical or Real Estate PLEASE GIVE ANY ADVICE!?

We Answered:

Here is my general answer to your question: think about this...

ANYONE, with or without an education, as long as they are willing to learn, can be a real estate agent...that's the beauty of the business world. You could start your own business with good insights and good knowledge (which could be from experience, school, observation, mentors, etc).

But to be a doctor means to have knowledge (almost unique and only to the doctors). Doesn't matter how well you know the material, you can't be a doctor without med school education, and pass the three USMLE tests...

As a real estate agent, you will be subjected to the change in the economy. As a doctor, you will always have patients...

Then there is the point about what you want in life, as someone mentioned before. Do you want a family early, etc. Also, what are you interested? Medicine is a long and hard road...

I recently finished school for medical transcription but I am having trouble finding work?

We Answered:

You're caught in the catch-22 of no experience/no work/no experience. You may have to find a position in a local doctors office or medical facility. Watch for "medical secretary" jobs too. There are page and pages of MT jobs on the website below.
