these are the 3 A levels you need Maths, Biology and chemistry, and any other subject at AS.
Medicine is very competitive they wont even consider offering you a place at any med school without A grades in the above A levels.
BTEC's are not accepted in any med schools neither is general studies A level.

The ability to do well in lab science and math courses is crucial. English writing and speaking skills are essential as what doctor's write can end up in court and miscommunications can cost lives.

Experience of some sort in medical areas (volunteer work would count; EMT, phlebotomist, something with patients is a plus), working with people--team sports, peer counseling, debate--lots of options are all good. Demonstrated ability to research, handle pressure, study, etc. are good. Music majors or minors or at least the ability to play an instrument is good (discipline, tendency towards math ability). Obviously being CPR certified or more consistently is sensible.

Med school is still competitive, as well as outrageously expensive, so a back up plan is important. Join appropriate student organizations for pre-med as well.

I AM AN RN(ASSOCIATE DEGREE).I KNOW OF SEVERAL NURSES THAT HAVE WENT TO SCHOOL FOR MEDICAL BILLING AND CODING AND THEY HAVE NOW "HOOKED UP" W/SEVERAL PHYSICIAN'S AND THEY ALL WORK FROM HOME MAKING THE SAME IF NOT MORE THAN THEY WERE MAKING BEFORE.FOR MED BILLING/CODING YOU COULD ALWAYS WORK IN THE BUSS.OFC SECTION OF A HOSPITAL,BUT YOU ARE NOT GOING TO MAKE THE MONEY LIKE A PRIVATE CODER WOULD.

Business is everywhere, but those computer courses would be better. You will benefit greatly from learning Word, Excel, Powerpoint and perhaps even Access. They come in handy, especially if you want to go to medicine and you do research undergraduate.
