Rhonda Said:

Are there any CRNAs out there or anybody who knows one?

We Answered:

Guess what? I am going to college this fall and going for my BSN (Bach. of Sci. in Nursing) and aspire to a CRNA as well.

Here's what I know:

Yes, they only require 1 YR of ICU exp., however , from what I have heard, it is MUCH better for you to have 3-5 yrs of ICU (type) of exp. It will help you a lot more in your chances of getting in CRNA school. Plus it is all-around beneficial to you.

The idea of you getting your RN license in a short time and working while getting your BA is not a bad idea. However, I would personally suggest you go straight for the BSN and perhaps midway through, volunteer and try and get an agreement with a hospital , so that once you graduate and pass your exam, you have a job lined up..

I would like to stress and point out the significance of trying to get straight As throughout all of college!!! This means Study Study Study!!! If you want to succeed, then it's worth it.

So okay, we know you will be in school to be an RN for at least 4 yrs... and then hopefully you do at least 3 yrs of ICU exp. (which you may not be able to get right away straight from grad) , so that puts you at the age of 25 or so when you apply to CRNA school (given you enter college at 18)..

You will also need 2 professional recs (at least for the CRNA school in my state) and it is highly recommended that you shadow a CRNA for at least 1 or 2 shifts..

CRNA school is expensive and full time. You cannot work during that time if you wish to pass. CRNA school programs generally tend to last 2-3 yrs. You must check out your programs options. Note that the avg age of CRNA students are among 35-40 yrs old (from some sources), however, many classes have a large number of students 27-30 yrs old.

Most CRNA students spend many many hours each day / week studying. It is worth it in the end. The avg. CRNA salary ranges from 145,000-175,000.

Do a lot of research and maybe even create an account on this link I will be providing. It has a lot of info that can probably help you more. Sorry if I didn't answer everything!

Goodluck!!

I have some questions about Biomedical Engineers can anyone help me out?

We Answered:

1) yes

2) a bachelors degree in Bioengineering, 4 years if you're good....from my experience, 5. Serious math classes, physics, circuits, dynamics....just look up a degree program in the college you're interested in, they should have a pretty good outline

3) straight out of school you're looking at 50k ballpark

im a guy leaving school i HAVE 2 OPTIONS. WHICH ONE WOULD YOU GO FOR??

We Answered:

The apprenticeship sounds great! You will get paid and learn a hands on skill at the same time. It is a good wage too for someone your age. My brother did an apprenticeship and now gets paid more that I do. Of course the decision is yours but I just think that you can always return to college at any time in your life if you decide that is what you want.

need help choosing a rewarding career path?

We Answered:

i myself, am currently in school down in pensacola for avionics. if you are into the circuitry side of technology you could go for that. from what i have done so far, only being in the training for two months now, it feels as if i am in an apprenticeship with boeing or lockhed-martin which i intend to do when i get out of the marine corps. what ever you decide to do, i wish you the best of luck at it.
