Pharmaceutical sales is far from easy, as you have quotas constantly, targets to meet on a regular basis, doctors to take to lunch, bosses who wish to know what you are doing, and days you wish to do nothing. The hiring process is an elimination process, sort of like American Idol, but is serious instead. One or 2 job vacancies with 100's of people applying.
Is anyone hiring? Who knows, you basically have to create a position within a company for you, it does not come to you. You must be totally committed, professional, excellent dresser, good looking, great personality. All others please do not apply.

Students who wish to become a trainer should study biology, chemistry, and physics as well as basic first-aid, ands some coaching or experience as a team captain is preferable. Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees are available in athletic training. An authorized program includes courses such as human anatomy and physiology, psychology, nutrition, and physical education plus extensive field experience. Athletic trainers also need good social and communication skills because they are constantly working with people.

Athletic trainer salaries vary depending on the location and the setting. The average salary is $18.44 per hour, which totals up to about $38,360 per year. Compared to a personal trainer, fitness trainer or aerobic instructor, athletic trainers make a decent amount of money. Of course, like every job, the salary usually starts smaller, and when the amount of hours and experience is increased, so does the salary range.

Along with this job there are many advantages and disadvantages. Being a personal trainer has its benefits, such as getting a free membership to any gym you work at, and meeting great people. Teaching a class is also a good workout for yourself. Some cons are it is extremely tiring, physically demanding and has lots of competition. You have lots of laundry all the time (being sweaty does that).

There are a number of ways for athletic trainers to advance or move into related positions. Some assistant athletic trainers could become head athletic trainers and eventually become athletic directors. Some athletic trainers may even move into sales and marketing positions, because in this field they are able to use their athletic trainer expertise to sell medical and athletic equipment.

The appropriateness of this field for myself is not a type of field I would be looking at for when considering what to do with my life. Being an athletic trainer would be a lot of work and would mean I would need to be extremely well fit. I am fit but teaching other people how to be fit and helping them out, is something that I simply not interested in pursuing. I would also need a lot of schooling because you need to know about muscles and first aid.

Residential security system sales is a tough profession. You can be successful, but don't think that there is any quick or easy way to make sales in this business.

That being said, there are generally two times when people make a decision to buy a security system for their home. The first is when then are building a new home or buying an existing home that doesn't already have a security system. The second is just after they have had a bad experience, such as a burglary.

To reach the first market, you need to keep track of new home construction and real estate sales in your area. There are often local business newspapers that show building permits that have been issued. Some of these papers also show real estate sales transactions. Use this information to contact people who are building homes or who have recently purchased a house. Also try and develop relationships with homebuilders and real estate agents that are active in your area.

Reaching the second market is a little tougher. In general, people looking for a security system after they have been a victim of a crime usually reach out to someone who they trust. This can be a friend or neighbor, or professional adviser such as a lawyer or insurance broker. One thing that can work well is to network with providers of other services, such as locksmiths or window installers. These folks often get called in just after a burglary has occurred and can possibly be a source of referrals.

Finally, get active in as many local community and networking groups as you can. Develop a short presentation on home security. This should offer generic security tips and not just be an ADT sales pitch. Offer to give this presentation at group meetings and community events.

It will take you some time to perfect your sales techniques and develop a referral base but this will eventually happen if you stick with it long enough.
