Medical Job Openings

Jose Said:

Are there really no openings for medical jobs right now in the Air Force?

We Answered:

I wouldn't go open general if at all possible, I would ask about which jobs are open for a guaranteed slot and analyze them to see if any interest you. Because open general could be anything, and there are a lot of jobs in the "anything" that aren't that good (though there are also a lot of good ones if you get lucky).

The recruiter is most likely telling you the truth about the medical field, because if there were an open slot he would definitely get you in it (they have quotas to fill). Medical is one of the more popular career fields, so it's difficult to get into. You could wait until the next cycle and see if any medical jobs pop up. Your recruiter may tell you that it's a bad idea to wait and that you might loose jobs or whatever, but remember, he has a quota to fill.

Although if any of the current guaranteed jobs interest you, and you wait until the next cycle then there is no guarantee those jobs will be available.

If medical is the ONLY thing you think that you will be happy doing then it may be best to wait. But there are a lot of good jobs.

One thing I would advise is definitely stay away from any maintenance jobs or Security forces jobs.

Remember it is YOUR career, so don't let anyone pressure/convince you into anything you don't want. The Air Force will always be there if you do decide to wait.

Vernon Said:

Does anyone know of any job openings in the metro Detroit area?

We Answered:

Have you considered working from home? There are many different work from home businesses that you can get into... Many offer a way to promote them on or off line.

I know our company can be done successfully either way (or using BOTH if you prefer) I love the versitility of it all. If you would like more details on what we do you may visit my site: http://learn2.momsmakemore.com

To help you in your search here is a little advice you should consider:

What should you look for in an "ideal" internet/home business?

- No or minimal start-up fees (Our business start-up is $29.00)
- A product or service you feel good about (Consumable products used in every home… safer, more effective, less expensive, things people use and need on a daily basis)
- A duplicable system (work FOR yourself- NOT BY yourself… we are a TEAM of individuals working to help others… “Enhancing the lives of those we touch by helping others reach their goals from Home!!!”
- Residual income (Residual Income PLUS bonuses for helping others!!!)
- Customizable web sites to promote your business (Free website for ALL Members)
- Free training and support (Free Company and TEAM Training… we will work with you to reach YOUR GOALS!!!)
- Free marketing materials and ideas (Our support team has 70 members who are there to help you every step of the way… Training and support from people who have been there and done that. Training provided via email, internet, or telephone)
- Company in business at least 18 months and in good standing with the Better Business Bureau (Inc 500 Company in business for over 20 years with over 700 Million in annual sales. As for the Better Business Bureau: “The Eastern Idaho and Western Wyoming division of the Better Business
Bureau recently presented Our Company AND CEO with its 2005 "Hall of Fame" award. This prestigious award honored Our Company for its example of ethics and integrity in
dealings with customers, employees, and the community. We have received many other Prestigious Awards.)

Kim Said:

Do medical secretaries have a good job outlook/many job openings? Will it be hard to get the first few years..?

We Answered:

I teach medical administrative assisting and medical billing and coding. Right now there is a need for medical secretaries but they usually all want experience. And right now in many areas the job market is really tight. With the proper experience there is a market, at least at Kaiser, for executive secretaries.

If you want to go medical and get a job right now I would recommend becoming a home health aide. You will most likely need to go through CNA training first. Check with the home health agencies in your area and see what qualifications they are looking for. Most of them also want experience but see if you can perhaps begin with a non-medical in home client, serving as a companion, doing errands such as shopping, cooking, light housekeeping, etc.

Maria Said:

Which career gives lots of openings in the job market today? Physician Assistant or Medical Ultrasound Tech?

We Answered:

I've seen more openings for PAs than sonographers. I'm in southeast Michigan.

Sidney Said:

Job openings in the medical field?

We Answered:

You could be a PA if you want. I don't know why you don't just become an MD. I'm an MD student and the PA students at my school take almost all the same classes I do (just crammed into 2 years instead of 4). In the end, they will end up making a lot less money than me to do the same job.
