Amy Said:

I am trying to get a medical transcription job. Does anyone know a good place online to look?

We Answered:

You can only obtain legitimate work from home positions from brick and mortar companies.

You want to send your resume out to companies hiring for positions you are qualified for, but include in your resume that you have a home office and you wish to work remotely. Include how you have your home office set up and what equipment you already have in order for you to perform your job.

These jobs are just going to advertised as jobs, they would not promote them as "work at home" because they would hear from too many unqualified people.

Why is it so hard to get a job in the UK?

We Answered:

Recession.
End of financial year
Businesses not going ahead with projects
Businesses not expanding
Not enough experience for the jobs you are applying for
Not qualified for jobs you are applying for
Over qualified for jobs you are applying for
Hundreds of people applying for the same jobs
etc
etc
etc

it is not easy out there at the moment - just have to stick with it.

Where are all the jobs in Medical coding and Billing?

We Answered:

you're searching online for them? You'll have a better chance if you check the local hospital websites, and newspaper ads. But honestly, it is kind of difficult to get into the medical coding/billing field, because employers always require a couple of years experience. I was a certified coder, and it took me 2 years to find a coding job!!! I started out working in a doctors office as a receptionist, where I also did minimal and very basic coding (basically just data entry). But I actually learned more about coding working there than I did in school...a job such as that will help give you experience for say an entry level coding position at a hospital,,which is what I now have. I still have a LOT to learn, and there are much more advanced levels of coding than what I am doing now...that is why they require experience,, there is so much to learn and experience and accuracy is very important. Another reason why you are having trouble find jobs, is because employers usually promote their current employees...so that makes it hard too. If you get a job at a doctors office, or in the medical records department at a hospital,, you will have a great chance of moving up to a position you want. IT is a shame that schools advertise how great a career you will have when you finish school..they fail to tell people how difficult it will be to actually get a job!,,

Having a lot of troubles finding a Dialysis technician job GUY’S?

We Answered:

I thought there were a lot of jobs in that field too. Have you tried looking at the Davita website (they are a national chain of dialysis clinics; see www.davita.com and look for the "careers" section at the top of the page).

What you may want to do is later in the day, call and ask for the clinic director. (I say later in the day because most dialysis clinics are extremely busy in the mornings til later in the afternoon). See if you can meet with him/her briefly, just for information. Take a copy of your resume; ask them what they are looking for and if you fit it. Ask if there's others skills that you need to have. Ask if he/she knows of a dialyiss clinic that is hiring

My dialysis clinic wanted volunteers; is there any way you could volunteer at a dialysis clinic (rather than a hospital) so they'll at least get to know you?

Are you willing to move in order to get work? Are you already certified?

I have not worked in dialysis but I am looking at this from the point of view of a former dialysis patient who became friends with the clinic director, and also as a person who's job hunting too.
