So law enforcement and medicine.....hmmm...I know that going into forensics is possibly a way to work closely with law enforcement while still being close with the medical field. Have you considered being a medical examiner? If you are looking more into law, have you considered becoming a patent examiner for biomedical equipment? It is so broad but for what you want, I would research forensics.

Sounds like a medical degree is not for you, perhaps law? It is quicker and easier to open your own law firm than your own medical practice. Who makes more really depends however. MDs certainly get sued more & their malpractice is higher, LOL. LAw school is 3 years after a bachelors.

If your not willing to go back to school then I'm guessing your not interested in becoming a lawyer. I hate to say it, but I think going back to school and majoring in Criminal Justice or some other Pre-law major would be your best bet. If you attempt to enter the law field without any similar educational experience your options will be limited. You will probably have to start at some entry-level position and work your way up. Try applying for a legal assistant or legal secretary position. There's also the option of entering the social work aspect of law such as being a probation officer or substance abuse counselor. Again, I really think you need to have some law-related education. I have my masters in Criminal Justice and currently work as a research analyst for the state. In my brief expereince, jobs related to the criminal justice/law field require at LEAST a BA or BS in a appropriate major. It is a competitive field and many employees have advance degrees.

I think both careers are fulfilling. But it is going to be a personal preference. Medical and law enforcement are both very mentally taxing jobs.
