Stephen Said:

Can I have entries redacted/ struck from my medical record?

We Answered:

HIPPA states that YOUR medical records belong to YOU, so you do have rights regarding this.

You can correct mistakes, etc by adding what is called an 'addendum' to your record. IT will not 'remove' anything but correct issues you, as a patient, see in the record and it something YOU place in there. Unfortunately, once your medical record is created, it takes on a life of it's own. The only way would be to start seeing a different physician and not release information to any other doctor, etc.

Medical Records/Billing Specialist...?

We Answered:

My wife went thru the course 4 years ago and was never able to find a job doing that. Don't waste you time and money. Instead try to become a nurse. Even an LPN is the easiest to learn and you're guaranteed a job, especially with so many retirement homes opening up.

Alexander Said:

I have been out of the medical field for awhile should I go back to update my skills??

We Answered:

If you want to return to the field, sure, why not? Most colleges/schools will allow for prior learning assesments, so you most likely will not have to take the whole program over. Your best bet is to speak with a counsellor at the school you wish to apply to.

I would also see if you might want to consider another related field in healthcare. There are many options, and you may want to take another program all together if the length of time will be the same. It's never too late to return to school and/or persue your dreams and goals. There are many programs and resources for "mature" students.

Good luck!

Marion Said:

Could I get a copy of my medical records from my NHS doctors?

We Answered:

You are entitled to view your records, you only have to give them 1 weeks notice for photo copies of particular results, at your expense, or you can ask them to forward particulars to the Specialist.
