Since you don't say where you are, you'll just need to explore the local community colleges near you as most have paramedic programs. Some are one year and others two and beyond. It can be a very fulfilling career if you are cut out for it. Go to whoever provides the EMT service near you and talk to some employees. I am sure they would be more than happy to talk to you about what it's like and how to do it.

I am taking online courses right now for 3 different things. I am doing Medical Transcription, medical claims and billing, medical and dental assistant. I think that Medical Transcription is a pretty good job. You can also work from home doing this. I think that Pharmacy Tech would be cool too. But i chose the transcription cause I am a Stay at home mom and I want to be that way until all my children are in school. So as being a transcriptionist I can do that. Good luck on your decision!
