Trying to decide on a major... up between a health career and computer science? We Answered:
I don't know much about about healthcare, but I am a computer scientist, and I've been working on the field for a couple of years.Computer Science is not as challenging as many people think. As long as you have a curious mind, you should do fine in your classes, and you'll have a rewarding career. I personally enjoy solving challenges every day.. Every program I design is like solving a puzzle.
One piece of advice... Don't expect your professors to teach you how to program in the classroom. That's impossible. Programming is like throwing a baseball or swinging a tennis racquet. You can only learn through trial and error.

What would be a good health career to start off with until fully finished with school? We Answered:
I worked in healthcare for 13 years and it is a great career field as it offers so much opportunity and variety. It also is a 24 hour environment and you should be able to find something that fits with your schedule.
You could work as a Radiology Tech, Surgical Tech, or Sterile Services Tech. There are so many jobs that you could do that will help you understand the business and culture of healthcare, provide you an income, and give you time to work through school. You may also meet a physician or two that can help you with school
Look for a teaching or university medical center in your area.

I just graduated from college and I want to go into a health career. Can anyone give me advice? We Answered:
How about the public health field since it sounds as though you have a passion for disease prevention and community education. I'm not sure if it's mandatory that one gets a master's degree in public health (MPH), but perhaps you can find out how to get involved within your community through a non-profit organization such as your local municipal building which typically has those departments on-site. Perhaps you can also look into a degree (typically master's) in dietetics to become a registered dietician (RD) and just fyi, the program should be accredited by the American Dietetic Association (ADA).Regarding 'finding one's calling in life', Farrah Gray, a young male millionaire/entrepreneur who wrote the book "Reallionaire" has said to ask oneself this question, "What would I do for years and years to come and not get paid?" Perhaps that can help you steer in the right direction.
For general career info: US occupational outlook handbook www.bls.gov/oco and can type into search 'health educator' (though looked and very short entry as another name may be more detailed), 'registered dietician' or whichever other field piques one's interest.

Does anyone know what type of health career is demand right now besides nursing? dental hygienist, phlebotomy? We Answered:
Healthcare sector is booming and there is a spectrum of rewarding careers. Career as a Respiratory Therapist is in demand and expected to rise between 21 - 35% over the years. Respiratory therapists evaluate, treat, and care for patients with breathing disorders and are mostly employed at hospitals, physician offices and nursing homes. An Associates RT program prepares you for possible certifications and credentials in Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and Respiratory Care Practiitioner (RCP). California College San Diego is a good option for an accredited RT program. Check it out http://www.cc-sd.edu/respiratory-therapy-programs.htmlRoberto Said:
In My sons Kundali 5 planets in 12th house, is it good for his overall studies, career & health? We Answered:
According to the horoscope the five planets in 12th house will lead to diminished vision in one eye and your son may suffer from fits. To reduce the ill effects, your son should not study in Chittoor, i.e. his place of birth!he may have problems in mathematics...he should stop being too emotional!
He may be a good author or an engineer!
His birth chart tells that he was born after many prayers and if you have committed anything for his birth..and if you havent completed that commitment yet, complete it!
taking gurudiksha will be very beneficial to his overall growth and development!

god bless both of you!

choosing between a health career and becoming a veterinarian? We Answered:
Either way you could just major in Biology and then apply to med or vet school you have to figure that out for yourself, you need to do some volunteer work at the Vet office and a hospital and see what it is that you want to do. I know people that didn't know what they wanted to do but you can go to Medical school or vet school by being a Biology or a Chemistry major, and take pre med and pre vet classes research the graduate/medical schools that you want to go to and see what they require and focus on your studies get all a's and b's okay?
